Rebel Filmmaker AZ
has organized many short film challenges over the past few years and all have succeeded at pitting the AZ filmmaker against
a compelling and increasingly dynamic set of cinematic challenges.
But many would argue that making a film is
difficult enough, without being required to kill 50 people in 3 minutes (yeah, that was us).
At the
same time, there are also filmmakers who might say, “Hey! I already have a great film and I should be able to enter
it into one of these things”. Just because I made it 3 months ago doesn’t mean It shouldn’t be able to compete.
What about my MOVIE?
In either case, Arizona will find that REBEL’S first ever FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE
is the answer.
Any film, premiered or unpremiered, 24 zombies or NO zombies, with kid stars, without
kid stars, funny films, scary films, shot on film or shot on video, in Spanish or Hungarian, shot specifically for the challenge,
for a different challenge, or for your college film class… If it is under 10 minutes in length, submitted by a Filmmaker
who can prove residence in AZ, IT IS QUALIFIED.
****Judges Panel will determine a top 20 for
the festival event based upon publicized criteria. Film may be disqualified if it contains certain deemed offensive material
such as Excessive Violence, Nudity/Sex, Hate-Mongering, etc. or music or other creative elements that the filmmaker has not
properly licensed.
The Top 20 Films will be premiered at REBEL FEST in late July and 2 of the films
will be awarded cash prizes of 500 dollars each (1 for Audience favorite {determined by dual ballot voting at the event},
1 for RebFest Winner {determined by Judges Scorecard}). Other non-monetary prizes will be awarded as well.
We will also be honoring the RebFest Winner with the 2nd ever REBEL TATTERED FLAG AWARD. All
Cash Prizes will be paid NO LATER than 21 days from Event Date.
REBEL’s FREE4ALL CHALLENGE will NOT
officially launch, nor will entry fees be accepted, until it has received 30 solid commitments from AZ Filmmakers. Standard
Entry for any qualifying film will be $55.00, first 30 commitments will receive $15.00 discount ($40.00 entry).
All
entrant Filmmakers will receive 2 Free Passes to the event whether their film makes the top 20 or not. Multiple film entries
from the same filmmaker are acceptable with appropriate fees paid. For filmmakers who have made multiple films we will offer
a 3 film entry bundle at $90.00.
All films should be submitted with a standard Rebel Film release
and in the proper format (Original file format, .mov, mp4, etc). Films may be disqualified if submitted in improper format
or without a signed release. Deadline for submissions will be June 30th 2011 (Midnight Day’s End). Entry
fees may be paid at any time prior to the submission deadline.

EARLY:

EARLY: All others - No later than May

STANDARD: No Later than July 14th 2011 – $60.00
LATE:
No Later than July 21st (Midnight end of Day) - $65.00
