FRESH PRODUCE
Sign up for FRESH PRODUCE today and get 50% off your entry fee for the Next film challenge.

FRESH PRODUCE will teach the filmmaker to produce films on a zero budget using the “rebel filmmaker” philosophy of self empowerment, kinship, bartering, relentless organization and self promotion.

The term "Producer" makes the average person think of those who hunt down investors and pool large amounts of cash together for the production of a film, but this is not always the case. At the indie Level, a film producer may never actually raise money.

At Best Derivative, FLE’s first feature, cost less than $1,800.00, at a time when the state of AZ was even less film friendly then it is today. To be honest, we never actually had $1,800.00 “in hand” – these were funds we raised in pieces over the life of the production; one we entered into penniless.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
FRESH PRODUCE will teach filmmakers to WRITE FOR BUDGET. This means that YOU will learn to avoid writing certain locations, situations, or novelties into the original screenplay so as to make the resultant film more practical for a zero budget. Finding creative solutions to the money problem is constant in zero budget filmmaking, but we can limit those problems by writing a reasonable project.

FRESH PRODUCE will teach the filmmaker to CREW UP. You can find the people, equipment and resources to make your film production a reality despite your current experience level, social adeptness, or monetary limitations. FRESH PRODUCE can help.

FRESH PRODUCE will teach the filmmaker the fundamentals of the audition process. Where do you find your talent? Where is an appropriate place to audition for FREE? What questions should you ask? Which questions should you be prepared to answer? What are you looking for? Is it just about talent?

FRESH PRODUCE will teach you the terms and titles of film production. We will discuss the fundamentals of equipment (i.e. cameras, lenses) and offer practical information as to what equipment to use, where you can find it, and what you would pay to rent or buy it, if you cannot negotiate it for “$0”.

FRESH PRODUCE will teach new filmmakers to monetize the craft of film making in small ways, but in the same ways that studios have done for years. A $245 film may make $625, as opposed to a $150 million film that makes $245 million.

FRESH PRODUCE will touch briefly on common FUNDRAISING strategies, including the use of online tools such as MyProducer and Kickstarter, in the event that you have a few inescapable costs that you cannot or choose not to “write around”.

FRESH PRODUCE will offer a brief REVIEW OF STANDARD AGREEMENTS/FORMS. We will talk about the use of releases, liability waivers, deferred compensation agreements, Non-Disclosure agreements, etc. Should my film be an LLC? How do I submit for IMDB credit on my production?

FRESH PRODUCE will also touch on HELPFUL ORGANIZATIONS and FREE online tools. This segment will be accompanied by a FREE list of film resources online, from Form PA for copyrighting to the groups and organizations that can help you cast and crew your projects for FREE.

+REBEL SCRIBE: LEARN TO WRITE "FOR BUDGET"
REBEL SCRIBE will help the Rebel Screenwriter to better understand the fundamentals of screenwriting form and content theory as well as the practical application of proven techniques, especially in the penning of a screenplay that might be better suited for a “zero budget” production.
