HOW
DO I SUBMIT?
Easy. Send your film (less than 21 min) in DVD format
along with a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (if you want the film returned) and a signed/dated media release form to:
Friar's Lantern's FilmStock
964 W. Hackamore St., Ste. 104
Mesa, AZ 85201
Be sure to speficy if you want your film entered as an OFFICIAL
SELECTION or a SPECIAL ENGAGEMENT (details explaining the 2 categories are below).
Also, include
contact information (email is our preferred method of contact) with each individual submission so we can let you know if your
film has been selected. There is no fee for submitting material. Unsigned or incomplete release forms will disqualify entrants
and if arrangements are not made to have DVD materials returned said materials will be destroyed.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "OFFICIAL SELECTIONS" AND "SPECIAL
ENGAGEMENTS"
There are 2 categories in which you can submit your film. The first is the prestigious
"Official Selections" category. Officially selected films are in contention to win the Best of Fest award (consisting
of a hefty "BOF" plaque, a radio interview on radiophoenix.org, 6 hours of post-audio space at The Boom Room and
an official Filmstock t-shirt). The other option is to enter your film as a SPECIAL ENGAGEMENT film. Special engagement films
are NOT in contention to win the Best of Fest award....but it does allow you to MAKE MONEY off of your film! If selected
as a special engagement, you will be given a film specific promo code to give out for your film. Instruct everyone to enter
that promo code when they purchase their Filmstock tickets online and 2 things will happen: First, they will get their tickets
at a discounted rate ($8 instead of the normal $10), and second, $4 of that $8 purchase will get kicked back to YOU! Keep
in mind, you will only make money off of properly coded advanced online purchases. You will not make money off of "door
sales" at the event!
Submission deadline for the JULY 1st event is JUNE 16th.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF MY FILM HAS BEEN SELECTED?
Official selection announcements are usually made 2 weeks prior to the event. On that day, if selected,
you will receive an email announcing your films' involvement as well as details on what you need to do to prepare
yourself, and your film, for the event!
